Yesterday, I walked up a steep footpath with Poppy (it was too energetic for Alice). The path has fields on either side. It was a warm humid day and at one time the sun came out, bringing with it a host of butterflies and moths. I saw a large number of the small, orange Barred Hook-tip Moth, two Gatekeepers, Meadow Browns, Painted Lady, Ringlet and lots of what my Butterfly and Moth book calls tan coloured tiny micro moths.
